Wofo ("we", "our", "us") operates the platform at wofoworld.com — a marketplace where customers can discover and contact local service workers (maids, cooks, drivers, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, gardeners, and watchmen).

2. What Data We Collect
For Service Providers:
- Phone number (used for login via OTP)
- Full name, service category, years of experience
- Service areas and rate per hour
- Profile photo (stored on Cloudinary)
- Availability preference
- Referral code (auto-generated)
- Subscription status and plan type (billing transactions are handled by a third-party payment gateway — we do not store card or bank details)
For Customers:
- Phone number (used for login via OTP)
- Name (optional, collected on first search)
- Location/area (optional, for search filters)
Automatically collected:
- Device type and browser (for performance monitoring)
- Pages visited and actions taken on the platform
- IP address (standard web server logs)
3. How We Use Your Data
- Phone number — Solely for authentication via OTP (Firebase). Never shared with third parties for marketing.
- Profile details (name, category, areas, rate, photo) — To display your listing to customers searching for services. This is the core purpose of the platform.
- Usage logs (pages visited, device info, IP) — To monitor platform performance, diagnose bugs, and improve the user experience.
- Subscription data — To manage your active plan, points balance, and trial period.
- Location data — To return geographically relevant search results to customers.
- To send service-related notifications (not marketing spam).
4. Third-Party Services We Use
- Firebase (Google) — Phone number authentication. Subject to Firebase Privacy Policy.
- Cloudinary — Profile photo storage and delivery. Subject to Cloudinary Privacy Policy.
- MongoDB Atlas — Secure database storage (Mumbai region, India). Subject to MongoDB Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense — We display ads served by Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website and other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site. You can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com. Subject to Google Privacy Policy.
- Razorpay (Payment Gateway) — Subscription payments are processed securely by Razorpay. We do not store, process, or transmit card or bank account details. All billing data is handled directly by Razorpay and is subject to their Privacy Policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards.
- Render — Cloud hosting provider for our backend and frontend.
5. Cookies
We use minimal cookies required for authentication (Firebase session tokens). Google AdSense may set additional cookies for ad personalisation. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties.
Worker profiles (name, category, areas, rate, photo, phone number) are publicly visible to customers using the platform — this is the core function of the service. By creating a profile, you consent to this visibility.
Wofo is not responsible for how publicly visible worker data is accessed, used, copied, or scraped by independent site visitors or third parties once it is displayed on the platform. Workers should only publish contact information they are comfortable sharing publicly.
We may share data only if required by law (e.g., court order or government request).
7. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at contact@wofoworld.com and we will process the request within 7 days.
8. Children's Privacy
Wofo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately.
9. Security & Data Breach Notification
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, rate limiting, input validation, and restricted database access. However, no system is 100% secure — use the platform responsibly.
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in risk to your rights and freedoms, we commit to notifying affected users and, where required, the Data Protection Board of India (or relevant regulatory authority) without undue delay, in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
10. Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Correction: Update incorrect information via your profile
- Deletion: Request full account and data deletion
- Opt-out: Opt out of personalised ads via Google's ad settings
- Right to Nominate: You may nominate another individual to exercise your data rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity, as provided under India's DPDP Act, 2023. To register a nominee, contact us at contact@wofoworld.com.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the platform grows. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version. Continued use of Wofo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
